OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental — The province is positioning itself for greater foreign investment as the provincial government brought together a delegation of Qatari business leaders and local government and business representatives to explore potential areas of collaboration.
Governor Henry S. Oaminal initiated the business dialogue, which brought together the Qatari delegation, provincial officials, municipal and city mayors, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and representatives of the local business sector.
The meeting provided an opportunity for investors to present proposed ventures while local officials outlined investment opportunities and development priorities in the province.
Among the companies represented was Suhail Industrial Holding, a Qatar-based firm engaged in recycling and industrial manufacturing. Entrepreneur Michael Javier presented the company’s proposal to work with the provincial government on hazardous waste management solutions designed to protect public health and the environment.
Paramount Philmarketing, represented by Manager Mark Sta. Maria and Elrey Gesmundo, presented potential investments in battery manufacturing and distribution.
Digital financial technology was also discussed during the meeting, with Liabify Chief Executive Officer Dr. Allan Villegas Mateos presenting fintech and enterprise resource planning solutions, including digital banking technologies intended to improve access to financial services.
The delegation also heard a proposal from Kalaro Chief Executive Officer Jun D. Lasco, who introduced the Filipino gaming platform that combines tournament management, social networking and video content.

Tourism was another area identified for potential investment. Business Partners Consulting LLC Chief Executive Officer Jyrex Asobrado presented a tourism venture aimed at supporting further investment in the province’s expanding tourism industry.
The provincial government, meanwhile, presented its own investment priorities and development opportunities to the delegation.
Calamba, identified as the municipality with the highest number of business establishments in Misamis Occidental, showcased several flagship projects, including the Asenso Business Park, Asenso Integrated Bus Terminal, Asenso Calamba Mall and Asenso Sports Complex.
The business dialogue allowed investors, local chief executives and representatives of the business sector to exchange ideas on possible partnerships and identify areas where foreign investment could complement the province’s development plans.
For the provincial government, these potential partnerships could translate into new investments, employment opportunities and additional economic activity for Misamis Occidental.
The meeting forms part of the province’s broader efforts to position itself as an investment destination and connect local development opportunities with international business interests.
As global investors increasingly look beyond traditional investment centers, Misamis Occidental is seeking to make its own development projects and emerging industries part of that conversation.
